Al-Qalam

Sources & methodology

Al-Qalam aims for accuracy and transparency. This page documents what we show and where it comes from. We do not invent scripture, translations, or attributions.

Qur’an text

Arabic Uthmani text is loaded from the Al-Qalam API / upstream Qur’an resources used by the app, prefetched to disk for reliable static pages. Chapter counts follow the standard Hafs ‘an ‘Asim division (6,236 verses, 114 surahs, 30 ajza’, 604 pages).

Translations

English and French translations are resource-backed editions from the same API map as the mobile app. Arabic UI pages treat Arabic scripture as primary and do not present English gloss as an Arabic translation. Always verify important meanings with qualified scholars.

Recitation audio

Streaming and MP3 downloads use the Al-Qalam audio pipeline (with upstream reciter files). Word/verse timing may be incomplete for some reciters; the player degrades to verse-level or audio-only when needed.

Hadith

The web library is a curated subset with visible references. It is not a complete collection. Prefer primary collections and scholarly verification for rulings.

Adhkar & duas

Daily remembrances are based on Hisnul Muslim-style bundled content shared with the mobile app. References are shown when available.

Prayer times

Local prayer times are computed in the browser using the adhan library and your location/method settings. Results depend on calculation method and device location accuracy.
